Directors

Langhorne Players is proud to put on a diverse range of plays with innovative production values and thought provoking ideas which will generate conversation from our audiences once they have experienced a show.

Prospective directors are encouraged to read all of the plays once our season has been announced. Then should a particular play speak to that person, they should submit their name to Langhorne Players to be considered as a director. The deadline for submission is usually in November.

Once this deadline has been met, all prospective directors meet with the director selection committee. At this time the director can share ideas they have with regard to the production and to the meaning of the play. These interviews tend to take place toward the end of the year in December, so that directors can be notified by the turn of the calendar year. We look for directors to have a passion for the play, the characters and the story they tell. In addition, our directors must be capable of overseeing all aspects of the show including casting, props, costumes, set decoration, sound, lighting and arranging for a stage manager.
